The Stalk Market Wins the Young Enterprise Competition

Competitions

A group of business studies students from St. Paul’s High School recently set up a company as part of the Young Enterprise Company Competitions. In the season of Valentines, the group set up their company “The Stalk Market” and with the guidance of teachers Mrs Ann O’Hare and Mrs Pauline McGuinness, went on to win the title of Best Overall Company and Runner Up in the Best Display Category in Rushmere Shopping Centre on 12th February.

On the day, the students were judged on many different aspects of their company from the quality of their products to the way the stall was displayed, and even the team’s marketing strategy. Undercover judges who wanted to purchase items from the stand such as roses, snow globes and heart shaped plaques judged the competition on the day.

Some of the extras that the students provided while The Stalk Market was set up within the school included a delivery service for flowers so a secret admirer could send a gift without being known. This along with all the students other ideas proved to be very successful.

St. Paul’s would like to congratulate the students on their hard work and success in the competition.
