Top Award at QUB for recent past pupil

Queen’s University recently held its award ceremony for new students enrolling at the Belfast university.

Among the awards were Entrance Scholarships to each of the university schools. Past pupil, Declan Magennis, received the award for the best A level entrant to the School of Law.

Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Ellen Douglas-Cowie said, “Queen’s is committed to investing in its students to ensure that we continue to produce graduates with the right blend of knowledge, expertise and innovation to ensure the future prosperity of Northern Ireland. Our scholarship programme helps us to do this. It rewards exceptional performance and helps us to ensure that a world-class academic experience is available to all our eligible students.”

Vice Principal of St Paul’s High School, Mrs Anne Mallon attended the ceremony and commented, “This is an occasion when all in St Paul’s can be proud of our past pupil. Through him, our school  name ranks with the best of the best.”

We congratulate Declan and wish him much success in his study at Queen’s University in the years to come.
