09/91 Single Acts of Kindness

IMG_6749

09/91 recently took part in a small form class project during the recent season of goodwill, this project was entitled ‘Single Act of Kindness.’

The class was asked to think about others around them and to do one single act of kindness during the Christmas season.

Some of the students carried out small but extremely kind acts at home or within their communities, such as offering as a volunteer to bag pack for their local hurling club, showing kindness to younger students within the school, getting their family involved in the St Vincent de Paul Giving Tree in the Quays Shopping Complex, finding money and offering it to a charity, or even making their mummy a cup of tea.

Others worked together and supported some very worthy causes, Sarah Trainor, Aoife Magennis and Ciara Mc Evoy held a sponsored silence in school in aid of NSPCC and raised an amazing £160.00.

Aoibheann Murphy and Cliodhna Tierney completed a sponsored run and used the money to buy presents from the schools St Vincent de Paul Giving Tree.

Every single act of kindness never goes to waste. Sometimes we do something good and think it won’t make a difference or will be noticed. The simple fact is that every act of kindness makes a real and lasting difference in someone’s life. We should never underestimate the difference a little kindness can make as the old saying goes …. every little helps.

A massive well done to all those students from 09/91 that completed their ‘Single Act of Kindness’.
