As part of November being National Anti Bullying Month, the Senior Prefect Team at St Paul’s have launched their first ever Anti Cyber Bullying Campaign. Within their role as senior prefects, the team collectively earmarked cyber bullying as an area of focus for this academic year. They have set about putting together a presentation, highlighting the reality and dangers of cyber bullying, which they will deliver to all year group assemblies over the coming weeks. As an extension of the campaign, they have created campaign posters and displayed them throughout the school to raise student awareness on this issue. The team have also set up school based competition encouraging students to submit a poster, poem, drawing, video clip that send out a message about cyber bullying; again with the aim of increasing student awareness about cyber bullying.

Year Head, Christine Fearon, praised the students’ efforts in planning this campaign on an issue that is becoming increasingly relevant to all young people. She said ‘it is inspiring to see how St Paul’s students are so active in their roles and willing to engage with their peers in an effort to make a positive difference.’ She is confident that they will be successful in passing on the message ‘Don’t be a Cyber Bully, Be Cyber Smart!’

Great to see this, the student body can do so much more than the staff when it comes to this type of work. Never forgetting that the only way to stop bullying is to TELL!
