Emily Murphy and Shaunna Pentony, A Level students at St Paul’s High School, have been invited to the TARGETjobs Grand Final in London to represent Northern Ireland.  Earlier this year, students from the north and across Britain were invited to take the TARGETjobs online challenge – with 5,405 students participating.

The purpose of the online challenge was to measure intelligence and the students’ abilities to meet the demands of the 21st century economy.

The top ten students were then selected in each region, with Emily Murphy achieving second place overall.

Emily and Shaunna will travel to the Crystal Building in London’s Docklands next week and will compete against 100 other students for cash prizes for themselves and their schools.

Some of the companies assessing them on the day include RBS Group, BDO Accountancy, University of Law and Siemens Global Engineering. PWC, the Northern Ireland regional sponsor will also be in attendance.

Head of Year 13 at St Paul’s, Ms Christine Fearon said she was exceptionally proud of the girls’ achievements and wished them well in the Grand Final.
