Feis success for St Paul’s

“An extremely polished and enjoyable performance” and “a very musical performance”,  were among some of the many compliments  heaped upon the huge number of talented students from St Paul’s High School that participated in Warrenpoint Musical Feis over the last number of days.

The choirs represented the school successfully with the Senior Girls Choir getting first place, beating the Junior Girls choir who received second place in the same competition, which was still a great achievement none the less. As well as that, three string ensembles received first prize in each of their separate competitions.

On Sunday night the traditional group narrowly missed out on the top prize, receiving second place despite their superb performance, and we should be proud of them as always.

Furthermore, four separate groups of Ethnic Percussion present in the percussion ensemble category, two of which were placed 1st and 2nd place in a very keenly fought competition.

Finally, to round off this huge set of achievements, the LSC choir was outstanding as usual, receiving a very well deserved first place in their competition. These results are clear evidence of the hard-work and dedication put in by all students, and especially the teachers in our music department in school.

Marvellous achievements! You have done yourselves, your families and your school proud. I wish I had even a small fraction of your musical talent. Congratulations also to all your teachers and tutors who set the high standards for you to reach and surpass.

Well done to the Music Department & their students on yet more achievements. Particularly delighted to see how so many Year 14 students stayed with the choir, drumming, orchestra etc! Great role models to our younger students.
