Gerry D’Arcy recognised for 27 Years working with St Paul’s

St Paul’s High School, Bessbrook presented Mr Gerry D’Arcy with a token of their appreciation for 27 years of work with the school, starting as a driver and working up as the school liaison inspector.

Speaking at the event, Principal Mr Jarlath Burns thanked Mr D’Arcy, saying ‘Gerry worked tirelessly for the benefit of all the pupils in this area. His priority was always to ensure their safe and speedy passage to and from school and he was always imaginative in how he dealt with any situations which arose’.

Chair of Governors at St Paul’s, Mrs Eileen Fearon was also fulsome in her praise for Mr D’Arcy, remarking that the Translink / St Paul’s partnership was used as a template for schools and bus services throughout Northern Ireland.

Mr Neil McArdle, teacher in charge of transport for St Paul’s, concluded by thanking Gerry for his commitment, his hard work and his insistence in the highest of standards from his company.

Mr D’Arcy is furthering his career to become manager of transport services in Armagh.
