As part of communication coursework, Health & Social Care students from Ms Fearon’s class were required to demonstrate their communication skills in an educational setting for people with additional needs.

Students eagerly paid a visit to the Learning Support Unit in St Paul’s and ran a ‘Board Games Class’ with Mrs Hillen’s group of students. This involved HSC students organising & explaining games such as Twister, Guess Who & Logo and then participating in them. They had to make sure they used the skills of tone, pace, eye contact, body language to ensure that communication was effective and the students were able to participate in the games. This was a very entertaining class and the students of the LSC Unit really loved the activities and were very competitive to win and beat the older Year 13 students! Indeed, they have invited us back later in the term.
